My husband Sheldon and I have been living in Tarzana for 40 years and our three children went to Wilbur, Portola, and Taft. I have a degree in Education from UCLA and taught school before our children were born. During our childrens' early school years, I was active in the PTA, ran a Junior Great Books program at Wilbur for about 4 years, had a private Power Reading after school lab, and started working as an advisor at UCLA Extension Advisory Service once a week and continued that for 33 years where I worked until June of 2009..When I went back to my other professional jobs, I was the Junior High Coordinator at Sierra Canyon School, and then went to Chaminade College Preparatory High School as a Junior/Senior counselor where I worked until I retired. During the years at Chaminade I was also doing college counseling, and had the opportunity to work with college representatives from many major universities and to have continued outreach with the parents and the community. I am also an active member of our synagogue. My husband and I love to travel and do so whenever possible. I am a sculptor, and have worked in stone and now in bronze.
I would like to give back to my community so I have became involved with TPOA . Currently I am co-chair of membership outreach and a representative to the Tarzana Neighborhood Watch group in my area. I am particularly interested in the Signage problem and hillside mansionization.
