Tobey and I became residents of Tarzana in 1971. Shortly after moving to Tarzana we became active in community affairs through the Tarzana Property Owners Association, and I have been a board member since 1972. Since that time I have held various positions on the board and have served as First Vice-President since the mid-1990s.

In July of 2001 the first meeting of the Tarzana Neighborhood Council Formation Committee was held around our dining room table. Currently I am President of the Council and serve as a business representative on the Board. I also serve as the Chair of the Rules Committee and am a member of the Land Use Committee. I have served as a member of the Neighborhood Council Review Commission and as Chair of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Congress.

I am the owner of a small business headquartered in Tarzana and maintain a small law practice also centered in Tarzana. I am a member of numerous legal / professional organizations. Currently I teach in the School of Criminal Justice for the University of Phoenix.
